Metropolis of the South

About Davao City

Davao City is a sprawling metropolis located in the southern part of the Philippines on the island of Mindanao. Known for its rich cultural mosaic, warm hospitable people, and stunning natural wonders, it offers a peaceful yet thriving environment for creativity.

The city was established in 1848 as a Spanish settlement and has since grown into one of the largest and most prosperous cities in the nation. Its diverse population is composed of Lumad indigenous communities, Visayan migrants, and international communities who have chosen Davao as their home.

Davao City is celebrated across Southeast Asia as the Durian Capital of the Philippines, blessed with fertile volcanic soils from majestic Mount Apo, the highest mountain peak in the entire archipelago standing at 2,954 meters.
